Accuracy and the impact on hyperglycemia
Having an accurate blood glucose meter can help you make more informed decisions with your healthcare provider and help understand how foods affect your blood glucose readings before and after meals.*,2
Hyperglycemia is having blood sugar above 11.0 mmol/L.2 Possible symptoms include fatigue, thirst and frequent urination (especially at night).
The glycemic index (GI) is a scale that ranks a carbohydrate-containing food or drink by how much it raises blood sugar levels after it is consumed.3 Foods with a high GI increase blood sugar higher and faster than foods with a low GI, causing hyperglycemia.
