My MIL has had type 2 diabetes for 5 years and now she says the doctor has told her she might have to go on insulin soon. Does this indicate she’s not looking after herself? KF

No, we followed all the rules and still my wife had to go on insulin. Our doctor said it can happen over time with type 2. Sometimes the diabetes just progresses. Insulin isn’t as scary as it sounds. Once you get used to it you it can be a good solution. Peter

After taking in the tablets for long years then sometimes our body might not respond to it. Another problem is that taking in the diabetes tablets can damage our kidney and liver. So in that situation it is always better to start insulin.
